The Social Security Administration is now able to fast track disability applications for those with specific conditions.
Jack Myers with the Social Security Administration explains that the application is known to take some time, as there are many things that go into it. While, traditionally, all applicants were treated the same in the process, now specific conditions fall under the Compassionate Allowance category.
“We’ve done some diligence on it and worked with some organizations and medical professionals to add those to a list we call Compassionate Allowances. Basically what that means is if you have a condition that’s on our list of Compassionate Allowances and we’ve already done all the homework, if you will, we can fast track your disability application and get you a much faster decision,” Myers said.
