The Pontiac Elks Lodge is hosting the Jolly Corks Wine Festival Saturday, August 5 from 3 to 10 p.m.
Lodge member Kristi Wykes explained that money raised from this event goes to the many causes the Elks supports.
“This is a vehicle that we are supporting our major lodge causes. The first one is our Illinois Elks Children’s Care Corporation. There are quite a few ways we help children, all the way up to age 21. Some different ideas happen to be we’ve provided for a prosthetic arm for a young lady here in town. We’ve gone to homes and given the funds to build chair lifts or ramps to get into homes, rebuilt bathrooms – anything a child needs to help them cope with their physical ailment. Whatever it may be, we can provide those funds,” Wykes said.
Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door and includes various wine tastings and food. There will also be music entertainment for the evening. Tickets may be purchased at Charmed Boutique, Divine Styles, at the Elks Lodge or online at jollycorkswine.com.
