The Livingston County Probation Department is saying goodbye to longtime employee, Mona Beasley.

She has served the county since 1982, most recently holding the position of Senior Probation Officer.

Chief Probation Officer Ron Baker shared some kind words he and the staff at the department have for Beasley.

“We will definitely miss Mona. She has been a constant in the department, virtually since the first day that all of us in the department started. Always been that positive presence – the person who looks out for her coworkers as much as she looks out for her clients. She’s the first person who thinks about the human side of things and the actual effect of things and to look out for folks who need help and notice folks who need help in some ways. She’s always there for other people, thinks of others before herself. We’re happy for her that she’s going to get a chance to have some free time and get a reward she’s earned, but we’ll miss her at the same time and it will be different here without her,” Baker said.

Beasley is retiring effective August 4.The public is invited to a reception that evening, honoring Beasley, at the Pontiac Elks Club from 4 to 7.
