The Pontiac Kiwanis met for lunch Wednesday and heard from guest speaker Jerry Causer.

Causer is the owner of Mario’s Pizza, the newest inductee to the Route 66 Hall of Fame, and while he gave a history of the restaurant, he also said the local popularity has spread with the induction.

“I think people notice a lot more and I think it brings a sense of pride for the people of Pontiac when they come in, because they feel like this is their place in their town and it’s a good thing about us and everybody knows about it. I think everyone in the state knows now,” Causer said.

Mario’s Pizza is located at 748 W. Madison Street in Pontiac.
