No matter the kind of relationship people have – friendship, family or romantic – people are always looking for the key to make it successful.

IHR Executive Director Joe Vaughan says while communication has always ranked as one of the most important things people can do, talking isn’t the only aspect of communication.

“If you’ve ever had a relationship where the other person is just constantly talking and they never listen to what you say, that makes it tough, so a good predictor is having the ability to sit back, listen and be reflective of what the other person wants to talk about,” Vaughan said.
