The Vermillion Players Children’s Theatre is set to perform Disney’s “My Son Pinocchio Jr.” at the Chautauqua Park Pavilion in Pontiac beginning Wednesday.
Director Jerry Keck said his 80 children strong cast is having fun with this show, which is a little bit of the original story of Pinocchio with a twist.
“It’s a new slant, because Geppetto is very disillusioned with Pinocchio. Pinocchio doesn’t fit the mold that he thinks a child should fit, so he calls on the Blue Fairy and the Fairies in Training. He wants the Blue Fairy to take him back. Well, the Blue Fairy is not at all interested in taking that back because it would ruin her perfect record. It’s (the show) is very delightful,” Keck said.
Tickets are sold at the door for these productions. Shows are Wednesday through Sunday evenings at 7:30.
