Information about Dwight’s rescheduled Fourth activities

The Village of Dwight had to fall into the ranks with the around 120 communities affected by the same company that provides fireworks for Independence Day, but pulled out of the celebrations a mere three weeks before the big day. They recovered by rescheduling their events for July 2.

Village Administrator Kevin McNamara said everything will be the same – just on a different day.

“Beginning at 6:00, we’ll be selling popcorn and the Methodist church will be selling hot dogs. At 7:00, their praise band will be giving a concert on the grounds of the grade school. A model plane club from Morris will be there giving demonstrations. We will be having touch-a-truck, kids’ games – the typical things that Dwight has done for the past ten years on the Fourth of July; it’s just being moved now to Sunday the second of July,” McNamara said.

Dwight Grade School is located at 801 South Columbia Street.
