The Pontiac Fourth of July activities at the Pontiac Elks Club have recently been rescheduled to June 30, due to an issue with the fireworks supplier.
General Manager Alex Arbogast explains why the celebration had to change dates.
“Unfortunately this past week, we were informed that the vendor that has supplied our fireworks for quite some time, were denied a permit to have the fireworks display, not only at our location, but at 120 locations across the state. So, we put our minds together and making the best of the situation, so going with a different vendor – same vendor who does the fireworks for the Chicago White Sox, so I expect it to be an awesome show, just like everyone’s accustomed to. So, we’re really looking forward to it,” Arbogast said.
Included in this free event, which is sponsored by Marlon Eilts Country Financial, will be caricature artist Dan Wild, open swimming beginning at noon, a firehouse tour, inflatables and a visit from the Livingston County Humane Society. Food and drinks will be available for purchase and the fireworks begin at dusk.
