WJEZ’s listeners really came through, donating over 110 bags for children in foster care, and representatives from the Children’s Advocacy Center and sponsors, Bank of Pontiac, were on hand Friday to pack the van with all the donations.
Jo Sipes, forensic interviewer for Livingston and DeWitt counties, was one of the people who helped take all the luggage to a van to deliver to the agencies that help the foster children.
“It’s very overwhelming. We’re just very happy to get all these bags for the foster kids that need them. We’ve had a really generous response. Without the ones that you guys gave us, we’ve had 631 bags, so that’s a lot,” Sipes said.
The Children’s Advocacy Center, sponsors Bank of Pontiac and all of us here at WJEZ would like to thank all of our incredibly generous listeners for all of the donations. We will still continue collecting the luggage as people bring them in.
