The Pontiac Kiwanis met Wednesday during lunch and heard from the new intern at Pontiac Parks and Recreation.

Shannon Harback is originally from Streator and studying at Eastern Illinois University, and she is excited to lend her knowledge and learn from the department in Pontiac.

“Thank you for having me in your town and thank you for allowing me to do this for the department because it’s a huge, huge asset to this community just to have the parks and recreation department, and everything that we’re doing and all the new things that are happening – the splash pad and even the skate park at Fell Park – new things are happening. Just be aware of those and be grateful for those,”  Harback said.
