The United Way of Livingston County will be the beneficiary of this weekend’s cruise night in downtown Pontiac, and aside from food and drinks that will be offered, they are also selling 50/50 tickets.

Executive Director Deb Howard explains that when it comes to fundraising for the United Way, every penny counts.

“Every penny means the world to us right now. We are $9,128 short of goal, so every penny means the most to us. Whether you’re donating a dime, $10, $100 or $1,000, each one of them is valuable, because we all know, a bunch of dimes together makes a lot of money, so every donation is valuable,” Howard said.

Tickets can be purchased at the United Way office at 210 N. Plum Street. Books of 6 are $5 or they can be purchased for $1 each. Ticket holders need not be present to win Saturday.
