Auditions this weekend for ‘My Son Pinocchio Jr.’

Auditions are being held for the Vermillion Players Children’s Show “My Son Pinocchio Jr.” Friday and Saturday by appointment only.

Director Jerry Keck describes what the children, ages first grade through 15, will be doing during their auditions.

“When they first come in, they are measured for costume, then there’s a group vocal warm-up and an assessment of the vocal range, then a choreography assessment and then a vocal assessment, when they sing their solo for me and we check the vocal range. That’s important for this show, because Geppetto of course is supposed to be an older person, so guys who have changed voices should definitely think about trying out,” Keck said.

Appointments to make auditions run more smoothly can be made by calling producer Michele Barnett at 815-674-0511. There are three times Friday and three times Saturday.
