The Pontiac Police Department is sponsoring a dodge ball tournament Saturday beginning at 8 a.m. at Pontiac Township High School.
Organizer Corporal Derek Schumm said they wanted to raise money for the Special Olympics of Illinois in a new and fun way.
“We were just looking to do something that was a little different to raise money. Every year we do several fundraising events throughout every year for Special Olympics Illinois. This year, we thought we’d include a broad range of people to get involved. Anybody from kids through adults can form a team. Male, female – doesn’t matter. Just get a team together and have some fun,” Schumm said.
The cost is $60 for teams of six. You can register by calling the Pontiac Police at 844-5148.
