Pontiac Healthcare and Rehab has formed a team to participate in the Alzheimer’s Walk September 16 in Bloomington and will be holding a fundraiser May 2.
Activities Director Kathy Finkenbinder details the entire event.
“You can get involved with us on May 2nd out at the Old Log Cabin Restaurant from 4-8. We are doing a fundraiser. This evening is in memory of Carol Rowland – one of our residents who recently lost her battle to Alzheimer’s disease and Carol’s family is very supportive to the community. So, they joined in with us from 4-8 we will be the workers. You can come eat in the restaurant. We will do deliveries in Pontiac and also carry outs available. We will also have raffles. Two Cubs tickets to Cubs verses the Diamond Backs in Chicago. Raffles will be going on. We would like to add everyone can be a part of end Alzheimer’s. You can sit in a room and look around 1 out of every 3 will come down with Alzheimer’s,” Finkenbinder said.
The Old Log Cabin is located at the intersection of Old Route 66 and North Aurora Street in Pontiac.
