Keeping an eye out for farmers during planting season

With the onset of spring and warmer weather, farmers will begin venturing out to their fields to begin the planting season.

Livingston County Farm Bureau Manager Jody Hughes reminds people to share the road with the large machinery.

“We talk about this every year. We can’t say it enough. Please slow down. Share the road. We know that big equipment, if you’re in a hurry, it’s going to slow you down, but if you could just take a minute, give yourself some extra commute time, remember those are the farmers producing the food, fiber and fuel you use in everyday life, so we please ask you. We don’t want any accidents. We also urge our farmers – please take some breaks, make sure you’re staying hydrated and make sure you’re getting plenty of sleep. No accidents this year would be our goal,” Hughes said.
