The Pontiac Junior High Makers Club is holding a Makers Faire this evening from 5 to 5:30 at the PJHS cafeteria.
Superintendent Brian Dukes said this event is a festival of invention, creativity and celebration by way of the STEAM program, which stands for science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics.
“One example as I was in watching the other day, is there’s some coding and some robotics and things they’re doing with that. There’s some electronics so kids are building things and lighting up and figuring out behind the scenes of how that all works. That’s just two examples of what to see. It’s a lot of hands-on and allowing kids to explore and just trying to figure things out with a little guidance from teachers,” Dukes said.
