One man has been arrested in connection with stealing a car in Gary, Indiana, and other crimes, ending in Ottawa Monday.

According to LaSalle County Sheriff Tom Templeton, DeAngelo Harris of Country Club Hills, was found in rural Ottawa Monday with a 9mm semiautomatic pistol. He was taken into custody, and further investigation found he was also implicated on three armed robberies of gas stations Monday after he allegedly stole the Dodge Charger. Robberies took place in Countryside, Palos Heights and Minooka.

He was arrested for home invasion, armed robbery and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

The investigation continues with the sheriff’s department, LaSalle County State’s Attorney’s office and Illinois State Police Crime Scene investigators.
