While the United States is nearing the end of National Severe Weather Preparedness Week, the National Weather Service is giving residents the chance to learn how to spot tornadoes.
There will be a training coming up at the end of the month that anyone can attend and learn how to help out in times of potential severe weather. Pontiac Fire Chief Scott Runyon has more.
“Annually, we have the National Weather Service come in and teach us basic storm watching classes – what to look for when severe weather comes in. If anyone is interested in that, you are free to attend. It’s March 23 at 7:00 at the historic courthouse on the second floor in downtown Pontiac. Please come. I hope you learn something. I’ll be there. Get a hold of me, come talk to me and we will see what we can do,” Runyon said.
