Day one of Respect Day Saturday

The City of Pontiac and the Livingston County Board passed resolutions to name March 4 and 5 “Respect Days,” which kick off Saturday with several activities.

Life Skills teacher Laura Baumgardner explains the events.

“We will have some raffles going around downtown with some posters and you can sign and sign up for a raffle. Then that afternoon from noon to 4, Dale Schrock has very kindly opened up Dairy Queen for a pledge drive. All you have to do is come in, sign the poster and you’re going to get some free ice cream, so we want to invite the community to that,” Baumgardner said.

Respect Days is all a part of promoting the eradication of using the R word. Day two of Respect Days is planned for Sunday.
