A Bloomington woman was charged with aggravated battery after striking a Pontiac Police officer early Monday morning.
According to Pontiac Police, officers responded to a call about a male and female arguing at the intersection of Mill and Grove streets shortly after 3 a.m. While separating the pair, Melissa Cromie struck Officer John Marion in the face, causing minor injuries to his face and neck from her fingernails.
She was placed under arrest and subsequently charged with aggravated battery of a police officer and resisting a peace officer. She will have her preliminary hearing March 1.
