The Child Protection Network is looking ahead to 2017 after finishing an “average” year.
Executive Director Judy Brucker said 2016 was right on par with past years when it came to the service it provided. She also shared the year’s statistics.
“Ninety-eight percent of the cases that we saw were sexual abuse and only two percent were physical abuse. Our protocol requires that all serious physical abuse cases as defined by DCFS’s Rules and Procedure come to us, as well as any allegation regarding sex abuse. Seventy percent of these kids were female and thirty percent were male,” Brucker said.
