The children attending programs with the Boys and Girls Club of Livingston County will have their birthdays celebrated monthly, beginning January 27.

Executive Director Gary Beckman said a group in town decided they needed to do something special for the kids at the facility.

“We have some wonderful ladies from St. Paul Lutheran Church who are going to come out they felt the need and the calling in their heart to do this and I think it’s a wonderful idea. They’re going to come out once a month on the fourth Friday of every month and host a birthday party for kids who had a birthday that month. So we’ll have a party, some cake, just a fun time to help celebrate those kids’ birthdays that month. (It) should be a fun and exciting time. I’m looking forward to it. I know they are and I know the kids will be,” Beckman said.

The club is located at 1303 E. Indiana Avenue in Pontiac.
