Practicing every day during summer vacation led to a State Championship in golf for a Pontiac seventh grader.

Even though Dani Grace Schrock began golfing in second, she entered this year’s championships with a little bit of nerves.

“I was very nervous and I really didn’t expect to win, considering the person last year shot a 70 to win it and the people after that shot in the 70s and I had a terrible sectional. At state, I shot a 70,” Schrock said.

Schrock wants to continue golfing through high school and college and admits thinking about being part of the LPGA after is fun.
