Free Summer Meals will be available throughout Pontiac through a federally funded program beginning May 24.

These meals are offered through Pontiac District #429 and school superintendent Brian Dukes said this program helps ensure children don’t go hungry over the summer.

“When people are really tight, there is just opportunity to miss a meal and we don’t want our kids to have to suffer throughout the summer. So, providing them with a guaranteed free lunch Monday through Friday, we feel is really going to serve our kids in the community and Livingston County, as well,” Dukes said.

These box lunches are available for children ages two through 18 years and will be provided on site May 24 through August 12 at 11:45 at the Boys and Girls Club of Livingston County at 1303 East Indiana Avenue and the Livingston County Housing Authority at11:30 at 903 W. North Street and from June 6 through June 24 at Pontiac Junior High School at noon at 600 Morrow Street.
