“Young Hearts for Life” is happening at Pontiac Township High School April 22.

This program is a free cardiac screening for students and Superintendent Jon Kilgore said this test is a chance to find any heart health issues in students that can typically go unnoticed until it’s too late.

“There’s been some young people around the area that have, unfortunately and almost out of thin air, lost their life in their sleep or while participating in something due to unknown heart defects and heart issues, so we’re hoping to be proactive in offering this program. We’re very thankful for everyone that’s helped organize that,” Kilgore said.
