With the ongoing budget crisis in Illinois not looking like it will be ending anytime soon, area school districts may be suffering as a result of this impasse.

Mark Jontry, Regional School Superintendent for Livingston, McLean, DeWitt and Logan counties was a guest on a recent Community Forum where he discussed the fact that the state doesn’t yet have a budget and is hoping the schools in his region can continue their operations for the long term. Jontry said the best people can do is contact their legislators and let them know how they feel about the way things are going, especially when it comes to funding for schools.
“Personal stories resonate with our legislators and they are responsive to that, so contact your legislators and let them know what this situation is doing or has the potential to do with your personal life,” Jontry said.
