The Pontiac 66ers have found themselves the top seeded team for the MPBA playoffs this year, with games Friday and Saturday in Pontiac.
The Windy City Groove will play the Chicago Blues in the first semi-final Friday at 5, with the Pontiac 66ers squaring off against the Lima Express. The MPBA Champions will be crowned after the championship game at 1 p.m. Saturday, all happening at Pontiac Township High School.
WJEZ’s very own Mark Myre, who is the general manager of the Pontiac 66ers, is looking forward to the games and is proud of the team in their first outing.
“No matter if they win or lose, I’m very proud because they were in communities, school districts – they did exactly what the MPBA is all about. When you look at basketball players, you can have great players, but you have to have them off the floor. When they’re off the floor just as good, then you’ve got something,” Myre said.
