The Livingston County War Museum – Dal Estes Education Center is the new home of a special uniform.

A US Navy cocked hat, which dates back to 1920, is now on display in the museum. Museum President Ed Long describes it as similar to the ones Napoleon wears in many paintings, and said it was worn by officers with ceremonial uniforms. Long said the hat and matching epaulet are on loan from Mike Shaughnessey.

“It’s quite an amazing thing to see. I’ve never seen one of these. It’s quite gorgeous. We hope everyone will come up to the museum to see the new cocked hat display,” said Long.

The museum is located at 321 N. Main Street in Pontiac.
