A two-car crash, which occurred at approximately 8:45 p.m. on Monday on Interstate 55 north of Chenoa, claimed the life of a Chicago man and Missouri woman. Both drivers were pronounced dead on the scene at 9:02 p.m. by Livingston County Deputy Coroner Danny Watson.

Autopsies have been ordered on both drivers and their names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

SELCAS and Duffy EMS were present and were assisted by Chenoa and Pontiac fire departments.

The accident is being investigated by the Livingston County Coroner’s Office, Illinois State Police District 6 and the Illinois State Police Accident Reconstructionist.
