With snow in the forecast today and tomorrow, residents are asked to follow the directions when parking along snow routes.

Specifically for Pontiac, residents are asked not to park their cars on the snow route streets until the snow has been plowed, and Chris Brock, superintendent of streets and alleys for the City of Pontiac, explains why.

“Ideally, if folks have a driveway and are able to get their cars off the side streets, that really helps us get everything plowed to the curb and cleaned up a lot nicer,” Brock said.

Pontiac’s snow route map can be found at pontiac.org. The City of Fairbury also asks residents to keep streets clear when a measurable snowfall is expected.
