Halftime can turn into a battle of the bands every year. For example, this year we will see Coldplay and Bruno Mars. Mars returns after his 2014 pairing with the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
There have been huge (and surprising) collaborations in the past, including Prince and the Florida A&M marching band in 2007. Or how about the Kings of Rock and Pop in 2001, which featured Aerosmith, ‘N Sync, Britney Spears, Mary J. Blige and Nelly? A Tapestry of Nations in 2000 was pretty interesting. That included Phil Collins, Christina Aguilera, Enrique Iglesias, Toni Braxton and an 80-person choir.
And who can forget Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake in 2004? Did you forget they were joined by Kid Rock, P. Diddy and Nelly?
