With more snow in the forecast today, there are ways to make travel safer for yourself and others.

Within the City of Pontiac, a snow route is followed, keeping the right-of-way open for emergency vehicles during extreme weather. Along with that is the presence of plows on the streets.

Chris Brock, superintendent of streets and alleys for the City of Pontiac has some tips for sharing the road with them.

“Occasionally, folks will either follow too close or misjudge their speed and pull out in front of a snow plow. You have to remember these trucks can’t stop on a dime and just give plenty of room for the guys while they’re doing their job. It makes a much safer environment for everyone,” Brock said.
