The Boys and Girls Club of Livingston County is starting a new program for their attendees this week.

According to Gary Beckman, executive of the club, the SMART Girls program, which is an acronym for skills mastery and resistance training, begins today. He was a recent guest on the Community Forum and explained the new program.

“Some of the things our SMART Girls program really works on is to develop and enhance the skills necessary for a healthy lifestyle and develop an understanding to appreciate their bodies and the physical, emotional and social changes they are going through,” Beckman said.
