A Ransom man was arrested and charged with several counts in Livingston County Friday.

According to Pontiac Major Dan Davis, officers responded to Walmart Thursday evening after it was reported a person was attempting to steal a computer. The suspect, 39-year-old Richard Sibert, fled at a high rate of speed, which officers observed and pulled him over. He was initially arrested for driving on a revoked license, and when officers searched the car, found a small amount of heroin, a hypodermic syringe and a stolen car stereo from Walmart.

Sibert was charged Friday with theft and possession of a controlled substance, along with other traffic citations.
