Local law enforcement officers were recognized at Monday’s Pontiac City Council meeting.
Pontiac Police Chief Jim Woolford gave out commendations and medals to Pontiac Police officers Markus Armstrong and John Marion, as well as Livingston County Deputy Andy Rork. Not present for the awards also included Pontiac Police Sgt. James Roberts, Officer Brian Enderli and Corporal Brad Baird.
“I think it’s an important part of the function of law enforcement to let the community know, especially these times with all the negative focus on law enforcement, that there is so much good that law enforcement is doing,” Woolford said.
These officers were recognized for things like stopping a train from potentially colliding with a vehicle stuck on the tracks, chasing a suspect on foot, dragging a man out of a burning home and doing CPR on a victim while EMS was on the way.
