The search continues for missing Louis Lowery

The search for a missing Pontiac man continued through the weekend with no luck.

According to Pontiac Police Chief Jim Woolford, ground searches continued Saturday in the search for 80-year-old Louis Lowery, who went missing Saturday, December 18. Saturday’s searches focused on re-searching rural areas mainly to the north and east of Pontiac. Those teams consisted on trained and certified search and rescue persons and K-9 teams from across the state. They were managed by the McLean and Livingston County emergency management agencies. They were assisted by Pontiac Police, Pontiac Fire, Livingston County Sheriff’s Police and Duffy Ambulance and was coordinated by Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System and the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System.

On Sunday, Hudson Fire searched body of water the Rod and Reel Club on Route 23 with sonar equipment. That search also came up with no sign of Mr. Lowery.

The searches continue and the entire incident remains under investigation.
