The Pontiac Fire Department responded to several calls Sunday and Monday.
According to Pontiac Fire Chief Scott Runyon, a call came in a little after 10 a.m. Monday about a grease fire at Café Fontana. That fire spread in the kitchen area and caused moderate damage in that area. There were no injuries from that fire.
The department also responded to Wright’s Furniture Sunday shortly after 9 a.m. Runyon said a fire occurred in their store in a rear storeroom and is believed to be caused by a water cooler malfunction.
The fire caused significant smoke damage in the west side of the business. The east side was spared due to the fire doors closing.
Runyon said there were no injuries that resulted from the fire.
The department also responded to calls about power lines and trees down throughout the severe weather Monday.
