Perform regular dryer maintenance

burning dryer

Practicing regular dryer maintenance can decrease the chance it could cause a fire in your home.

Some telltale signs your dryer needs some attention include if you notice it runs much longer than it needs to, if clothes removed after one cycle are still wet or damp and if the dryer moves or shakes while it’s running.

Some things you can do to help eliminate the chance of fire and add years to the dryer’s life is to clean the screen after every load, wipe down the dryer’s interior and keep the lint trap clean.
