Jock Jibberish: Christmas traditions around the world

traditions

So many people have Christmas traditions and Todd and Cynthia have a list of traditions from around the world to talk about this morning around 8:40.

Have you ever heard of Krampus? He’s the evil demon anti-Santa. He roams the street during Krampus Night, which is December 5, the eve of Saint Nicholas Day. This happens in Austria. Krampus is looking for someone to beat with a stick. Interesting, to say the least.

How about Caga Tia, or the “pooping log?” Yes, you read that right. The Catalan custom is celebrated in spain, where you buy your own caga tia , which you must feed every day beginning December 8 and on Christmas Eve or day, you put him in the fireplace and beat it until he poops out small candies, fruits or nuts. When he is done, the final object dropped is a small salt herring, a garlic bulb or onion.
