The Huffington Post asked women what they wish men would do on first dates. Here are seven of the best responses:

Actually ask her on a date … not just to “hang out” or “chill.”

Hold the door open for her and pull out her chair.

Admit you’re nervous, too, so she knows she’s not the only one.

Put your phone away.

Don’t talk about past relationships.

Actually listen to her responses after you ask a question.

Don’t examine the bill like you’re itemizing what each person ordered.

–When you do that, I start to wonder should I have ordered chicken instead of lobster?
