People who are out and about this holiday season will have several chances to donate to the Salvation Army.

The Red Kettle Campaign sets up bell ringers with red kettles who accept any and all donations.

Linda Voorheis, director of the Livingston County Service Extension of the Salvation Army, explained all the things these donations would do for people in need.

“We use it to help people who are in need of certain things. It could be rent, any utility, sometimes it’s prescriptions. There’s all sorts of things we use it for,” Voorheis said.

The goal is $32,000 and they have collected approximately $13,000 thus far. The kettles will be out until Christmas Eve.
