The Pontiac District 429 Board of Education approved a tentative levy at its most recent meeting.

Superintendent Brian Dukes was a guest on Community Forum and detailed the levy.

“We’re very lucky to have Enbridge to go on the tax rolls this year, which brings in roughly $11 million to our school district that we’re able to capture. In order for us to capture that, we’re going to have a Truth in Taxation hearing, which we’ll be able to capture that new money that comes. We get just one opportunity, when it comes to new construction, in being able to capture the full amount,” Dukes said.

The tentative levy is on display at the district office, located in Central School, and the board will give final approval for the levy during the December meeting.
