Illinois American Water recently promoted Mike Smyth to Vice President of Operations.

Smyth has most recently served as senior operations manager of field services and production for the company. He has also previously held positions with Insituform Technologies USA Inc. and MPC Products Corporation.

Smyth earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a master’s degree in business administration from St. Xavier University Graduate School.

The promotion was effective November 9.
