The Livingston County Board voted Thursday to post the proposed county budget, but some of the decisions were met with contention.

Livingston County Board Chairman Marty Fannin explained the contention came along with money put forth for the recreational path that is planned to run alongside Route 66 from just south of Pontiac to just north of Chenoa.

“To get this project going, what they need is $100,000 as a 20 percent of an 80/20 grant that would be through the Federal Government passed through the Illinois Department of Transportation. Then they also approved in the budget an $64,000 year-by-year monies to fund recreation,” Fannin said.

The proposed budget can be found at livingstoncountyil.gov or by visiting the Historic Livingston County Courthouse.
