In a show of solidarity and support, Heartland Community College will participate with other community colleges across the country in a National Moment of Silence at 1 p.m. Thursday.
This moment of silence will be honoring the victims of the recent shooting at Umpqua Community College in Oregon. It is also in support of those working to support the healing underway at the UCC campus and anyone else affected.
HCC President Rob Widmer said at Heartland, everyone’s safety is a top priority and emergency preparedness and procedures are worked on year-round.
