Mid-Central Community Action’s Neville House in Bloomington was recently chosen to participate in Allstate Foundation’s Purple Purse Challenge.

Through the challenge at PurplePurse.com, each participating organization can raise program funds and encourage public donations.

The Purple Purse Challenge is meant to raise awareness in domestic violence, which affects 1 in 4 women in her lifetime. On an average day, nearly 11,000 requests for emergency shelter, childcare and other services go unanswered due to a lack of funding at domestic violence nonprofits around the country.  Even as demand for services increases; these programs continue to operate with limited resources.

Supporters can donate from today through Oct. 27 by visiting the MCCA donation page at https://www.crowdrise.com/MidCentralCommunityAction.  MCCA’s goal for the Purple Purse Challenge is to raise $30,000 from online donations.

MCCA also offers services in Pontiac and Livingston County.
