In September, Illinois American Water employees across the state are participating in the Company’s AmerICANs in Action Month of Service campaign.
On Sept. 19, Illinois American Water Pontiac District employees came together to participate in the Vermillion River Cleanup. The event is organized by the Livingston County Environmental Association and sponsored in part by Illinois American Water.
According to Tim Tuley, operations superintendent, the project was important to employees and he commended his team for its involvement.
Volunteers removed cans, bottles, scrap metal, old tires, paper, cardboard, old appliances and more from the Vermillion River.
This is the fourth year for American Water’s AmerICANs in Action Month of Service program. Across the country, teams volunteered and contributed to their communities through river clean ups, blood drives, pet supply drives and more.
