FRANK MAUTINO SIZED

State Rep. Frank Mautino supported legislation Thursday to fund training programs for Illinois police officers and reverse $20 million in proposed funding cuts to programs for children with developmental delays.

Mautino backed House Bill 4150, which would fund therapy programs for children from birth to 3 years old, law enforcement training programs across Illinois and a number of mental health services. The vote followed testimony delivered Thursday before the entire House of Representatives by law enforcement officials and service providers from across the state who discussed the consequences of failing to enact a budget.

The measure received 54 votes, with nearly all House Republicans in attendance failing to support the amendment, putting the bill several votes short of the 71 votes it would need to pass the House.

House Bill 4150 awaits further action in the House.
