The Pontiac City Council met last night and had a presentation about the expansion of the Central Illinois Regional Broadband network.
Mayor Bob Russell explained that this expansion would help with both new and existing businesses.
“We currently have it running down Reynolds Street in front of a lot of businesses. We have it downtown in some of our buildings and it’s currently being run through some other businesses that have requested it in town. It’s a really good broadband fiber optic program that really is attractive to new businesses,” Russell said.
In other business, the council chose to replace one outdoor warning siren for severe weather, which recently stopped working. The siren is located on Deerfield Road.
