The United Way kickoff happened yesterday morning at the Pontiac Elks Lodge, drawing donors and board members for a breakfast with peers.

Speakers for the day included longtime Advance Drive chairpeople Mike and Dee Ingles, chairman Gary Bressner and special guest speaker of the day, Jim Drengwitz.

Bressner said the there are people who need their help and donating to the United Way could make the difference.

The goal for the year is $196,000 and everyone on board knows they can raise above and beyond that number.
